Set in the renowned Simonsberg ward near Stellenbosch, Ladybird Boutique Hotel at Kanonkop – Operated by Touch Down Africa forms part of the iconic Kanonkop Wine Estate.

The hotel is set on a 40-hectare estate, surrounded by 36 hectares of vineyards, with beautiful mountain and dam views. Here, guests can experience the Stellenbosch Winelands from a setting closely connected to one of South Africa’s most celebrated wine estates.

Formerly known as Laibach Vineyards, the estate was acquired by Kanonkop in April 2022. Today, Ladybird combines its established vineyard heritage with a boutique hotel experience, while retaining elements of the original property, including the Laibach wine cellar and organically farmed vineyards.


The vineyards are home to Chenin Blanc, Merlot, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinotage, Petit Verdot and Malbec, continuing the estate’s longstanding connection to winemaking in the Simonsberg region.


From days spent discovering Stellenbosch’s wine estates to relaxed afternoons beside the dam, Ladybird offers a beautiful base for experiencing the Cape Winelands.
